Regarding Glow EZ Lock Deep Parabolic Quick Softbox (48")

Howdy Team,

I take bought Glow EZ Lock Deep Parabolic Quick Softbox (48") to start my OCF journey.

I am trying to open the softbox. The office to put the latch by pressing the ring is a nightmare. I struggled a lot to become this done. Taking lot of free energy and pressure level to put this on work.

1. Does anybody accept similar struggling experience regarding the same ? if not I can assume there is something wrong with my particular and look for replacement.

two. What alternatives I can await for in similar price range (around 100$)

5. Can I become for 2 small softboxes in virtually similar toll?

Practise what I did.

Go to a hardware store and buy yourself some narrow judge PVC pipage, virtually a 1/2-inch internal diameter, or just wider than the shaft, and cut it to the length you need. Use it to push button down on the locking collar.

P.South: I have 2 AD200 Pro and AD-B2

These softboxes tin be tricky. The bigger ones need a proficient push, no dubiety about information technology, and 48in is large - for nearly people pictures I rarely use annihilation more than 36in. Y'all may also have trouble with normal superlative ceilings.

The other problem is it tin can be physically difficult to get a skillful position to give the big ones a strong shove - endeavour pushing information technology up against a wall.

These softboxes tin be catchy. The bigger ones need a good button, no uncertainty well-nigh it, and 48in is big - for most people pictures I rarely use annihilation more than 36in. You may also have trouble with normal superlative ceilings.

The other trouble is it can be physically difficult to get a good position to requite the big ones a potent shove - try pushing it upward against a wall.

On your other questions, merely some comments really.

Don't try to run too quickly. Start with 1 light and a fold-up reflector and practice indoors where the modelling LEDs in the Advert-B2 will exist a great nugget. 30-36in softbox is plenty big enough for soft light on solo portraits and couples. You can do so much with just that and fifty-fifty if you accept ten lights, the main key-lite will always exist doing the lion's share of the work.

I have several fancy softboxes but my get-to modifiers, especially outdoors when there is commonly less time for set-up, are 'umbrellaboxes' like these. Cheap, fast, and easy to use, with keen lite. TBH I'd forget about parabolics, they're 99% marketing bullcrap if they don't take a key mounting rod for the strobe, ie expensive. Without that they're but large, heavy things and when yous put on the front diffuser all declared parabolic benefits are neutralised anyway. Outdoors where wind is a major problem (y'all'll need sandbags) they're a cumbersome headache.

Don't go a deep softbox. Information technology's non parabolic and the only thing it will do for you is add more weight and bulk to make your life difficult. Get a regular softbox, you can get glow ez box, but don't get a deep one.

If yous're going to exist using a softbox, ve sure to have a bare seedling wink unit.Don'tuse a softbox with a speedlight or whatever blazon of fresnel equipped light. Information technology'south a waste product.

Why not go an umbrella? It's more flexible and piece of cake to set up and break downwards.
